ABOUT ME
Seeking counselling could be a life changing experience and could be scary as well. Coming from a culture that did not necessary see counselling as supportive and going through my own journey of finding a counsellor, Esther felt similar emotions such as fear, anxiety, not being judged, and weak. Over the years of her practice work, Esther have heard a lot of people asking the question" how do I find the right therapist that understands me, sees me, and could connect with me in creating a healing space that feels right for me". This is where Esther comes in with my experience, knowledge, and skill to help you explore/support you within your decision in seeking counselling.
As a therapist, Esther works from a person centered, trauma-informed, and specialism includes Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), AEDP Level 2, Gottman Couples' Therapy (levels 1 and 2), Emotional Focus Family Therapy (EFFT), Somatic processing, and Motivational Interview (MI).
Esther holds a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology from the Simon Fraser University, Canada, a member of the BC Association of Clinical Counselors (BCACC), and a Registered Clinical Counselor (RCC). Esther’s Masters research focused on social and emotional development in young adults. Esther aims in creating a safe, non-judgmental, and kind space in supporting clients within their healing journey.
Esther brings years of experience working with adults, youths, and couples using a dynamic culturally sensitive approach within the therapeutic space.
